If You Are Going To Do It, Do It Right

You’ve probably heard that old adage, “If it’s worth doing, it’s worth doing well.”  When it comes to Pilates and your health, it goes double.

Pilates is an experience of a lifetime, an extraordinarily effective way to look after the health and fitness of your mind and body. It will bring balance and strength to your life and make it so that you can move through your life with greater ease and mobility.

Like many transformative programs, Pilates is designed as a one-on-one experience. This allows the teachers (us) to personalize the program in the way that most benefits the student (you). Without this individualized attention, much of the magic of Pilates is lost.

We are here to guide you into the best you can feel, into better movement. We believe so strongly in the Pilates system that we are committed to doing it the way its creator,  Joseph Pilates, intended. Large classes are fine for many activities, but Pilates is built around your individuality.

Our commitment to this is so strong that we have designed two different Beginner Options for you to choose from. If you are new to the studio, please take advantage of our complimentary New Client Consulation, so we can advise you which class or session would best fit your need.

To Each Their Own

There are different paths to reach your goal.

Which of these following workout types describes you best?

Then follow the links to take you to a description of the best Pilates option for you.

Mat Pilates

This is right for you if ...

  • You enjoy the atmosphere of a group class.
  • You enjoy working with /against your own body weight on a mat on the floor.
  • You have no limitations or injuries.

This is not for you if....

  • you have wrist, back or neck problems.
  • find it difficult sitting on the floor or getting up and down from the floor.

Our mat classes are...

  • Essentials
  • Applied Essentials
  • Elite

Here is a description of our classes and their pre-requisites.

Apparatus Training

This is right for you if ...

  • You feel out of shape and very weak, and not sure if you can keep up with others in a class.
  • You have an injury that you want to rehabilitate.
  • You have a tender neck or back.
  • You're overweight.
  • You've done a lot of Pilates on the mat and want a new challenge.
  • You're bored with traditional forms of exercise.
  • You think you're strong - we can take you to the next level.
  • You enjoy working independently towards the fastest results under an instructor's guidance.
  • You enjoy working one-on-one with an instructor.
  • You want the full Pilates experience with everything that the method has to offer for quickest results.

It might seem contradictory that working on Pilates Apparatus would be recommended for weak AND strong people. But the magic of the springs is such, that it can either

  • help make an exercise easier (the tension of the spring holds your body weight.)
  • or more challenging (you have to work against the spring tension).

This makes the Pilates apparatus an amazing tool to strengthen and stretch and give you a complete body makeover.

We work on these pieces of apparatus:

  • Reformer
  • Ladder Barrel
  • Wunda Chair
  • Spine Corrector
  • Pedi-pole
  • Foot Corrector
  • Rotator Discs
  • Orbit

How can I work on the Apparatus?
